Welcome to
Fire Protection University!

We are training the future fire protection workforce.
Fire Protection University offers a pathway to an emerging industry, preparing individuals for careers in fire/life safety. FPU is developing economic opportunities for our local workforce through immersive, blended and hybrid learning.
Tragedies that could have been prevented with adequate fire/life safety precautions:

- Ghost Ship Fire (Oakland, CA).

36 total deaths. Building was inspected by Fire Department but no follow up.

- Honolulu Fire.

5 total deaths, 12 injured.
Building did not have an automatic sprinkler system.

- London Fire.

150 total deaths. Tenants stated they could not hear the fire alarm.

We blend hybrid learning with real hands-on classroom education. Fire Protection University offers a pathway to an emerging industry, preparing individuals for careers in growing fields like fire/life safety system testers, property managers, building engineers, fire inspectors, and future firefighters.

More than 30 years of experience

- Faculty & Staff

Our faculty is comprised of fire protection industry pioneers and scholars with over 30 years of experience.

Apprentices are paired with experienced fire/life safety professionals who serve as mentors. These mentors provide guidance, share their expertise, and help apprentices learn the importance of inspecting, testing and maintainance of fire/life safety systems.

We want to create a safer and more resilient world where the devastating impact of fires is minimized, and lives and property are protected.
